Updates

21 April 2020

We are aware that a number of you are concerned about the timing of tax payments and if there are any concessions that the IRD are providing.

The IRD has recently released the following regarding the late payment of taxes due on or after 14 February 2020 as a result of the impact of COVID -19

“If your business is unable to pay its taxes on time due to the impact of COVID-19, we understand, you don’t need to contact us right now. Get in touch with us when you can, and we’ll write-off any penalties and interest.”

However there is no clear guidance on the criteria and how this will be applied, as soon we have this we will send a further update.

In the meantime to prevent default assessments being issued, the IRD recommends that you continue to file returns on time.
