The problem with the fee structure of many accounting practices is it does not provide an incentive for the accountant to work as efficiently as possible. Therefore, the goals of the client and accountant are not aligned. Accountants typically charge for their time so what's the hurry? The other option for accountants is to charge a fixed fee for their services. The problem with this type of fee structure is the accountant will only provide the fixed and specific services of that fixed fee agreement. Often proactive and forward focused advice will not be given because it is outside of the agreement. The result - average service.

To get around this problem that most accountants in public practice face, we communicate clearly with our clients about accounting fees. Many practitioners avoid the topic however we embrace it. Once we have a clear understanding of what our client requires we reconcile this with what they are prepared to pay for, and come up with a package for them. This is only possible with good communication. We are proud of our ability to openly discuss fees and tailor a package specific to each client. This skill ensures our clients receive the best value for money.

We are strong advocates of agreed value accounting fees. This ensures no surprise accounting bills and increased service. We are proud of the fact that approximately 50% of our clients pay a monthly fee for accounting services.
